Get FORKED

The calliper mounts are behind the forks and so is the brake line tab which indicates I have the 76C forks, on the 74/75 the brake line tab is on the opposite side to the caliper tabs. This was an improvement on the 76 as the caliper behind the fork gives it less unsprung weight = better handling. The 77 definitely takes a 35mm tube and mine are only 34mm indicating an earlier model.

The only possible conclusion is when the po changed the guard, and wheels to mags they would have filed off the tabs for the stays to look like the 77.  The info has been bounced off a few knowledgeable fellows and this is what can be agreed to. So I am running with it and will order the seals for the 76 forks.

Might go for Four!  Three un registered, un finished XS projects just aren't enough!!

UP FOR GRABS IS  AN XS650 CHOP. BOUGHT AS A BOBBER PROJECT NOT RUNNING, NEEDS WORK. HAS EXTENDED FORKS AND MODDED REAR FRAME AND RESET REAR SHOCKS. GOOD BASE FOR A CHOP OR BOBBER PROJECT. MOTOR IS NOT COMPLETE BUT GOOD BONES. CHEAP START FOR A TOP CUSTOM BIKE OR PARTS.

He thinks it is a 76, and I don't have a 76, fits right in between the 74 & 78……. So if it is cheap enough and got useable bits.  Well we will see!
