One Piece Risers & Bushings

I was thinking yesterday as I swapped the risers over.  There is move to solid riser bushings over the original rubber ones.

These by Hugh's Hand Built.

 I was thinking I want to turn up some brass risers on the lathe.

Could I build the top riser bushing as a part of the riser in one piece??? I don't see why not.
I have posted a message to Hugh and on the forum to see what feed back I can get on the idea.
